Sliding Replacement Windows
Sliding replacement windows are a great option for any room that is in need of more light. As opposed to single hung windows and double hung windows, sliding windows do not obstruct the horizontal view in the window. Sliding windows only obstruct a few inches of the view which can be seen be moving your head a few inches.
As a customer, you have the option to purchase a sliding window with 2-lites or 3-lites. Lites (or sashes) are the sections of the window that operate. If you choose to purchase a 3-lite slider for your home, you have to option to buy an equal-lite slider, which means both sashes are the same size, or an un-equal lite slider which means the middle sash can be larger than the outer to operating sashes.
What’s the difference between the unequal and equal 3-lite sliders? The only difference is the middle sash. In an unequal slider, the middle fixed sash can be much wider than the outer, operating, sashes. This allows a large unobstructed view with the availability to vent the room with the sliding pieces.
Like other window types, sliding windows also come with many options. They can come in multiple colors, have grid patterns, obscured glass and more. New replacement sliders glide very smoothly in the window and can be locked for security. Some replacement window manufactures also make the window easy to pop out for cleaning purposes.
